Our Cottages
Gowland Farm Cottages are charming barn conversions only two miles from the coast, ideally placed between Whitby and Scarborough. Boasting an onsite heated, indoor swimming pool as well as a scenic rural location. You can start each day with an invigorating swim, or wind down in an evening in the clear warm water that is kept at a comfortable 28 degrees C. There is also a sauna in the pool room which can be used at an additional cost. Besides the pool room you have a BBQ area with picnic benches and elevated views over the surrounding countryside. This destination is a haven for wildlife, where you can catch glimpses of deer as they venture from the woodland. Also on site you have a games room, which has pool table as well as a table tennis table.
The cottages are only a couple of miles outside of the peaceful village of Cloughton, which has two friendly local pubs, serving lovely homemade meals. The nearest coastal spot is Hayburn Wyke, where you have a woodland walk with a waterfall cascading over the cliff top onto a secluded cove. There is an 18th-century coaching inn here, serving hearty meals as well as tasty desserts in front of a roaring open fire. The Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track are scenic walking trails nearby, taking in Ravenscar and Robin Hood’s Bay on the way towards the seafaring town of Whitby.
The North Yorkshire Moors National Park has some delightful little villages amongst the vast stretches of heather strewn hills and valleys. There is also the ancient Dalby Forest which has brilliant cycle and walking trails to be explored. Enjoy the great outdoors and take in your surroundings whilst having a welcoming base to return to, making your holiday one to treasure. For family days out in Scarborough you have the Alpamare water park as well as the sea life centre. Inland you have Flamingoland theme park and zoo.
May Cottage
Sleeps 2
May Cottage will sleep two people in twin beds. The cottage is all on ground-floor level; two steps with railings lead up to the front entrance.
The accommodation consists of the twin-bedded room, bathroom with bath and shower and a comfortable lounge with dining area and kitchen.
Enjoy lovely views from the front across Harwood Dale.
Bartlett’s Barn
Sleeps 5
The two bedrooms in this cottage will sleep four adults and a child, there is also room for a cot. The cottage is spacious with a high pitched beamed ceiling in the lounge. A twin bedroom is also downstairs, next to the shower room. The kitchen and dining area is in the lounge.
From the lounge, the stairs and gallery lead up to the charming double bedroom that also includes a single bed. A cot & high chair are available at no extra cost.
This is an ideal family cottage.
Swallows Folly

Swallows Folly has one bedroom and will sleep two comfortably.
The bedroom is downstairs with a double bed along with the shower room and kitchen diner. Upstairs is a large lounge with panoramic views across the countryside.
This cottage makes the ideal base for a couple on their own.
Over Across
Sleeps 6
Over Across is the largest of the four cottages and has an unusual split-level design. The three bedrooms sleep six – four adults and two children.
Two bedrooms are upstairs – a double (space for a cot available on request) and a twin room that has one small single bed and one child’s cabin bed, 5’6” in length. Downstairs is a twin bedroom next to the bathroom and kitchen.
The large lounge-dining room with high-pitched ceiling faces west, French windows lead onto the private patio with panoramic views over Harwood Dale and the moors beyond.
