Gowland Farm is situated in the beautiful North York Moors National Park. We are only two miles from the coast, ideally placed for the seaside towns of Scarborough and Whitby.

Directions

From Scarborough: Follow A171 to Whitby. As you leave Scalby turn left, signposted Wrea Head Country Hotel. Go straight across next crossroads & turn left at bottom of hill – both signposted Harwood Dale. At top of hill take 2nd right into Gowland Lane, note post-box on junction. Gowland Farm Cottages are 1 mile along, on the right.

From Whitby: Follow A171 to Scarborough. Just over 1 mile after 'The Falcon Inn' turn right onto Gowland Lane, we are ½ mile down on the left.

White Rose Cottage is situated in the village of East Ayton on the bank of the river Derwent at the southern end of Forge Valley.  Only 5 miles from the coast, ideally placed for the seaside towns of Scarborough and Whitby.

From A64: Follow the A64 towards Scarborough, turning left at the Staxton roundabout and continuing on the A64. At the next roundabout turn left leaving the A64 and following signs for Seamer. Carry on straight through Seamer until reaching the roundabout where you carry straight on following signs for Ayton. Having entered the village of East Ayton you will arrive at a mini roundabout at which you go straight on following the A170. Progress along Main Street (A170) and in approximately ¼ mile you will see the Old Chapel on the right hand side adjacent to the turn off for Forge Valley. The drive for White Rose Cottage is down the left hand side of the Old Chapel.

From Scarborough: Follow the A170 for Helmsley. Having entered the village of East Ayton you will arrive at a mini roundabout at which you turn right following the A170. Progress along Main Street (A170) and in approximately ¼ mile you will see the Old Chapel on the right hand side adjacent to the turn off for Forge Valley. The drive for White Rose Cottage is down the left hand side of the Old Chapel.

From Pickering: Follow the A170 for Scarborough. You will enter West Ayton first, East Ayton starts as you go across the bridge over the river Derwent. As you go over the bridge you will see the Old Chapel in front of you, adjacent to the turn off for Forge Valley. The drive for White Rose Cottage is down the left hand side of the Old Chapel.
